He Pingping, the world’s smallest man who stood just over two feet five inches tall, has died at the age of 21. Mr He, who was 29 inches tall (74.61cm), suffered chest pains while taking part in a television show in Rome. He was taken to hospital but died on Saturday from what is believed to be heart complications.
Born in the northern Chinese region of Inner Mongolia, Mr He had a form of primordial dwarfism. His father He Yun had reportedly said that when Mr He was born he was small enough to fit into his parent’s hands.
Mr He was officially recognised as the world’s smallest man by the Guinness World Records in 2008.
Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of the London-based Guinness World Records, recalled measuring Mr He in Inner Mongolia in 2008.
"For such a small man, he made a huge impact around the world," Mr Glenday said.
"From the moment I laid on eyes on him, I knew he was someone special - he had such a cheeky smile and mischievous personality, you couldn't help but be charmed by him.
"He brightened up the lives of everyone he met, and was an inspiration to anyone considered different or unusual."
Mr He regularly travelled around the world to promote the Guinness World Records with other record holders.
In September, 2008, Mr He visited London where he was photographed alongside Svetlana Pankratova, the woman with the longest legs for the launch of the 2009 Guinness World Records book. Earlier this year he travelled to Istanbul to launch of the Guinness World Records live roadshow, where he posed alongside the world’s tallest man, Sultan Kösen, who stands at 8 ft 1 in (246.5 cm).
His trip to Italy this month was to film an appearance on the records show Lo Show Dei Record. He reportedly began to feel ill two weeks ago when he was taken to hospital by production staff, however Mr He passed away on Saturday.
Guinness World Records said it would announce Mr He's successor as the world's shortest man in due course.
Khagendra Thapa Magar, 18, from Nepal, who is reportedly 20 inches (51cm) high, declared in February that he is the rightful holder of the title.

World Largest Meatball Guinness Record set by Glen Oaks Community College

World Records by Paavan S - Targetseo.com - SEO India | Thursday, March 18, 2010 | , , | 0 comments »
A world-record attempt staged Monday at Glen Oaks Community College had the atmosphere of a tailgate party and the anticipation of a New Year’s Eve countdown.

In the end, officials from the Centreville-area school were confident a world record was set in the form of a 254-pound meatball. The attempt for largest meatball ended about 100 pounds less than organizers of the feat had planned, but they’re cautiously optimistic a new record stands.

At 254 pounds, the potential record-setting meatball is 32.5 pounds heavier than the current record-holder, set last year by Nonni’s Italian Eatery. Organizers had started out with 400 pounds of meat and additives, and were aiming for a 350-pound meatball.

Organizers of the event said a community outpouring of donations and support contributed to the success of the event. Keith said he expects word in the next month from Guinness officials, who will verify whether the community college's attempt is, indeed, a world record.

Dennis McCarthy, dean of students and the college official who ultimately OK’d the attempt, said he shudders to think what sort of record Keith, business professor Bill Furr and their peers may attempt to set next year.

Remarkably, she insists she is healthy despite now needing a mobility scooter when she goes shopping.
“My favourite food is sushi, but unlike others I can sit and eat 70 big pieces of sushi in one go,” the American told the Daily Mail.

"I have to eat 12,000 calories a day and hope to achieve my goal in two years."

Donna, who wears XXXXXXXL dresses, eats mounds of junk food and tries to move as little as possible.
Ms Simpson already holds the Guinness World Record as the world's fattest mother.

Simpson says her boyfriend Philippe, who she reportedly met in a fat fetish chat room, encourages her.
“I think he’d like it if I was bigger. He’s a real belly man.”

Simpson makes money by running a website where men pay to watch her eating food.
"I love eating, and people love watching me eat. It makes people happy, and I’m not harming anyone.”

With a bowl measuring 15' in diameter by 3.5' high filled with 13,786-pounds of freshly made spaghetti, Italian eatery Buca di Beppo successfully created the all-time largest bowl of spaghetti in the world this weekend at its restaurant located in Anaheim, CA.
The enormous bowl was filled via a "bucket brigade" made up entirely of Buca employees, filling the massive bowl positioned by the restaurant's main entrance. Six chefs supervised the food preparation and production of the enormous spaghetti bowl that also included more than 100 gallons of marinara sauce. The feat was achieved with hundreds of on-lookers and Mayor William Dalton of the City of Garden Grove and other city officials in attendance.
The previous world record for the largest bowl of pasta was 9,767 pounds, set by Wataniya Restaurants-Sbarro on March 28, 2009 in Doha, Qatar located in the Persian Gulf.
To commemorate the massive achievement, Buca di Beppo restaurants across the nation will celebrate on Monday, March 15 by offering free spaghetti to all guests who purchase a Buca Large® or Buca Small® pasta or entree. In addition, for every portion of spaghetti given away, Buca will match it with a donation of uncooked pasta to various homeless charities with a minimum donation of 10,000 lbs of uncooked pasta.
None of the pasta from the record breaking event went to waste. The pasta from the event was donated and repurposed by the local agricultural community.

Buca di Beppo employees are trying to set the Guinness Book of World Records for the biggest bowl of pasta, more than 9,800 pounds. Garden Grove TV3 brings you the story.

The 50 feet high sign, which also stretches 270 feet wide, has been constructed on Cleeve Hill overlooking Cheltenham Racecourse.

The Paddy Power advert, costing tens of thousands of pounds, eclipses the previous world record holder which stood at 160ft wide and even dwarfs the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles.

It stands taller than three double-decker London buses stacked on top of each other. The record breaker took three years to design and took a 60 man crew over 1000 hours to build.

Paddy Power said he wanted to celebrate the excitement of the races Hollywood style.

"There's more drama in Cheltenham than the whole of Hollywood combined so it might as well have the sign as well," he said.

"It's simply a bloody big sign and I think it looks great - I'm very proud of it."Cheltenham is the biggest and the best race meeting in the world so we wanted to build a monument to reflect and celebrate that.
"Everyone knows how much the Irish love Cheltenham, so we are delighted to finally have built them a sign to celebrate what many people call the Irish people's second home in true Hollywood style."

It is due to come down at the end of the week and Mr Power believes the stunt won't be copied by other media-savvy publicity seeking firms.

"I wouldn't like to see Cleeve Hill look like an advertising hoarding," he said.

TALLEST DOG EVER

World Records by Paavan S - Targetseo.com - SEO India | Saturday, March 20, 2010 | , , | 0 comments »
Were he able to don boxing gloves, bob and weave, his 111kg (17.5st) mass would allow him to fight as a heavyweight. And if he could dribble and shoot, his 2.2 metres (7ft 3in) would make him the envy of the NBA.
But seeing as his paws – not to mention several sporting rules – disqualify him from either pursuit, "Giant George" the Great Dane will instead have to content himself with the title of world's tallest dog.
George, who lives with his owner, David Nasser, in Tucson, Arizona, has clinched the Guinness world record after his stats – 109cm from paw to shoulder; 220cm from head to tail – were confirmed by an official adjudicator following some controversy.
The lofty canine saw off competition from the previous record holder, a four-year-old Great Dane named Titan, thanks to his extra three-quarters of an inch.
The breed appears to have the title sewn up: before Titan took the 2009 crown, the glory belonged to Gibson of Grass Valley, California.
"This is a hotly contested record and after some controversy and conflicting media reports we decided to send our own official adjudicator to put the final stamp on this record holder," said Craig Glenday, the editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records.
"We can indeed say now that George is the top dog."
Those who do not keep a behemoth in a kennel or a leviathan in a fishtank need not be disheartened, however. The company is now searching for other, less obvious record-breakers such as the smallest dog (length), the dog with the longest ears, the oldest dog, the smallest cat and the oldest cat.
"This record has sparked great interest in finding other pet records, so we're asking everyone to check their dog houses, scratch posts and under the bed," said Glenday. "They just might be living with a record-breaking pet!"
